AIBE XVIII (18) for the year 2023-24 will be conducted offline on a national scale. Individuals who have graduated in law and are registered with any state bar council, but have yet to clear the Bar examination, are eligible to participate. The online application process for AIBE 18 is set to commence today. The scheduled date for the AIBE 18 examination is October 29, 2023. AIBE 18 serves as a test to assess the fundamental legal knowledge and aptitude of law graduates. What is AIBE?
The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a certification exam conducted twice a year by the Bar Council of India (BCI). AIBE exam sets the standard for law graduates looking to practice law in India. Those who clear the AIBE exam are awarded Certificate of Practice (CoP, making them eligible for practising law in India.

AIBE XVIII (18) Eligibility Criteria 2023-24
The Bar Council of India (BCI) prescribes the AIBE 2023 eligibility criteria for candidates looking to appear for the examination. The AIBE XVIII (18) eligibility criteria are as follows.
Educational Qualification – Graduation in Law (3-year LLB and 5-year LLB) from a university recognised by the Bar Council of India.
Age limit – There is no age restriction for appearing in AIBE exam.
Enrollment certificate requirement – Law graduates must have a valid enrollment certificate. They are required to clear the AIBE exam within 2 years of enrollment at any of the state bar councils.
AIBE XVIII (18) Application Form 2023-24
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the AIBE XVIII (18) 2023-24 application form on August 16, 2023. The application form for AIBE XVIII (18) 2023-24 will be available in online mode, on the official website of the council – allindiabarexamination.com. Eligible candidates can register and fill out the application form of AIBE 18 2023-24. The AIBE 18 2023-24 registration fee is Rs. 3000 for all candidates. The last date to apply is September 30, 2023.
AIBE XVIII (18) Exam Centre 2023-24
The council conducts the AIBE exam in 50 cities across the country. Candidates can select three exam centres of their choice while filling up the application form. The council has prescribed the syllabus for AIBE exam. The syllabus of AIBE XVIII (18) 2023-24 consists of 19 topics/subjects on Law. These subjects are common Law subjects of LLB (5-year LLB and 3-year LLB Programme). A total of 100 multiple choice type questions are asked from AIBE syllabus as mentioned below.

AIBE XVIII (18) Exam Pattern 2023-24
The offline based AIBE exam will have 100 objective type questions. There is no negative marking in the exam. Also, as per the AIBE exam pattern released by the council, the AIBE is not an open-book exam. However, candidates are allowed to carry Bare Acts without notes.
