Law Admissions Without CLAT

CLAT is not the only option available to students who want to pursue a career in law. There are a lot of ways a student can seek admission to a law program in a reputed law college in India. Students who do not wish to give CLAT for admission purposes into a law college can opt for the ways listed below:

  • National-level Entrance Exams: A student can sit for other national-level law entrance exams like All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), Law School Admission Test India (LSAT India), All India Bar Exam (AIBE), etc. which are accepted by most of the top law institutes in India.
  • State-level Entrance Exams: Students can also sit for state-level entrance exams for law if held by their particular state or any other state where they want to study.
  • University-level Entrance Exam: If a student wants admission into a specific university they can appear for that university’s own entrance exam which will add more value for the particular student.
  • Admissions based on merit: If a student does not wish to sit for any kind of entrance exam and wants to seek admission based on 10+2 marks and qualifications, many top colleges offer admissions to such candidates too.
  • Management Quota: Certain percentage of seats are reserved for students who want to enter into private and autonomous colleges that allow such admissions. Admissions processes are different from the norm and the students need to pay a ‘donation’ amount apart from the college fees.
