CLAT Application Form 2024: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has made the CLAT 2024 application form available online starting from July 1, 2023. CLAT 2024 Application Form
CLAT 2024 registration details, visit the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The registration fee for CLAT 2024 is Rs. 4,000 for general category candidates and Rs. 3,500 for SC, ST, and BPL candidates. Additionally, there is a Rs. 500 fee for question papers. However, candidates can also download the official CLAT question papers and sample papers for free from the provided direct link.
The CLAT 2024 exam, slated for December 3, 2023, will be conducted in offline mode. This entrance exam serves as the gateway for admission to 5-year LLB and LLM programs offered by 24 national law universities and over 60 affiliated law schools in India.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates should ensure that they meet the CLAT eligibility criteria before filling out the application form. A brief overview of the eligibility criteria is mentioned below.
UG CLAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria – Candidates should have passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks (40% in the case of SC and ST candidates) from a recognized board or institute.
PG CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2024 – Candidates should have passed LLB (3-year LLB or 5-year LLB) from a recognized university with at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC and ST candidates).
CLAT Application Form 2024 – Important Documents Required
Candidates who want to apply for CLAT 2024 should keep the following documents handy:
- A scanned copy of front facing passport size recent photograph with a plain background
- Scanned signature of the candidate
- Category certificate for SC/ST/OBC or PwD candidates
- BPL certificate (if applicable)

Additionally, candidates should possess their Class 10th and, if available, Class 12th certificates, along with LLB graduation certificates (for CLAT LLM applicants). However, it’s important to note that the original documents and certificates will be necessary only during the admission and CLAT counseling processes. Failure to provide these documents during these stages may result in the denial of admission.
How to fill CLAT Application Form 2024?
Candidates can fill out and submit the application form of CLAT 2024 in five steps as mentioned below.

CLAT Registration 2024
- Visit the CLAT 2024 official website – consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
- Open the CLAT 2024 portal and click on the new registration
- Fill CLAT registration form by entering your contact number, email ID and name and submit
- Enter the OTP received on your mobile number and email ID to complete registration.
Filling CLAT application form 2024
After registration, candidates should login and access the application form of CLAT 2024. The application process is divided into five sections – personal details, communication details, educational details, preferences, and reservations.
CLAT 2024 application form – Personal details
- Upload a recent passport-size photograph and signature as specified
- Enter personal details such as name, date of birth, parents’ name, gender, nationality, residential status, and NRI category status (if applicable)
- After filling all details, click on the “Next” option and move to the communication section
Enter communication details
Candidates have to provide the following information in the communication section;
- Permanent address
- Correspondence address
- Email ID and mobile number
Save the details and click on the Next option
Education details
Candidates applying for UG CLAT 2024 will have to provide the following information.
- Qualifying exam name
- Name of the board or university
- Passing status – Appearing/Appeared or Passed
- Month and year of passing
- Percentage/grade
Candidates applying for CLAT LLM will have to enter the graduation details in addition to the above-mentioned details.
Enter Test Centre Preferences
CLAT 2024 will be conducted in around 131 exam centres across the country. Candidates can select any three exam centres in the order of preference. Note that the allotment of exam centres will be based on the candidate’s preference and the availability of seats in the preferred exam centre. The list of test cities is given below.

Enter Reservation Details for CLAT 2024
Except for NLU Jodhpur, all other national law universities offer domicile reservations. Candidates who are eligible to apply under domicile category seats should select the reservation status. NLU Preference List 2024
This year, candidates will be required to update their NLU preferences at the time of filling the application form of CLAT 2024. Candidates will be required to select NLUs and courses in the order of their preferences. After entering their NLU preferences, candidates will be required to click on the ‘update NLU preferences’ button.
It must be noted that candidates can only enter NLU preferences till November 3, 2023. No changes in NLU preferences will be accepted after the given date. The list of NLUs that can be entered as preferences has been given below:

CLAT 2024 Application Form Correction Window
The consortium will also provide a correction window for CLAT 2024, soon after the closing of the application submission window. The application correction window may be provided for two to three days during which the candidates can review their CLAT registration form and make necessary changes.

CLAT Admit Card 2024
The NLU Consortium will issue the CLAT 2024 admit card to such candidates who have registered for CLAT and complete the application process by submitting the registration fee. The CLAT admit card will be available for download a few days before the examination. Candidates will have to use their application number and password to download the CLAT admit card. It is a mandatory document for appearing in the examination and for admission to the allotted NLUs during the counselling process.
