The Consortium of National Law Universities has issued a crucial notice pertaining to both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) candidates. According to this notice, a ‘Domicile Reservation‘ category has been introduced for UG and PG programs. This category is exclusively for candidates who are residents of Tripura. Those who meet the domicile criteria can now update their information on the CLAT Portal to avail of this reservation benefit. Stay informed and make the necessary updates if you’re eligible!

“An official notification has been released regarding changes in the seat matrix of National Law University, Tripura (NLUT) in Agartala. Candidates are urged to review the updated seat matrix thoroughly and, if applicable, make the necessary adjustments to their reservation category. Eligible candidates can follow the provided steps to update their Reservation Category as needed.”
How Can Candidates Update Their Reservation Category?
- Login to your CLAT account;
- Click on the ‘Edit Application’ button;
- Go to the ‘Reservation’ tab.
- Under, National Law University Tripura (NLUT), Agartala, for the question, “Are you a domicile of Tripura?”, answer “Yes” and select the Reservation Category you want to claim from the given drop-down menu.
- Click the ‘Submit’ button to save your changes.

CLAT, or the Common Law Admission Test, serves as a nationwide entrance examination for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 22 National Law Universities across India. The Consortium of National Law Universities, representing these institutions, administers the CLAT. Additionally, various affiliated universities and organizations utilize CLAT scores for their respective admissions and recruitment processes. It’s important to note that all admissions for the 5-year integrated Ll.B. and Ll.M. programs starting in the Academic Year 2024-2025 will be conducted through CLAT 2024.
